Joy of living moment by moment
The sights, the smells, the sounds, and the caresses of everyday life
In the everyday hustle and bustle, I forget how much I love nature. But, at other times, there are the simple, soothing moments that reach within to calm my soul.
In no particular order, I want to share what brings me comfort and joy.
The earthy smell of soil after the first rain, the beguiling sweet scent of grilled corn, the cooling minty aroma of eucalyptus leaves, the nostalgic nutty notes of roasted peanuts.
The soft rustle of leaves when sauntering in the forest, the gentle flutter of paper when turning the pages of a book, the blissful rendering of Hamsdhwani Raaga by Hari Prasad Chaurasia on flute, the pleasant chirping of birds in the morning, the hypnotizing swish of a swing.
The hopeful glimmer of sunlight through the trees, the unfurling flower petals beginning to bloom, the breathtaking riot of colors at dawn, the relaxing flicker of firepit flames at night, the optimistic cheer of the fall season colors.
The comforting warmth of the morning light, the gentle wisp of mist, the tingling thrill of wet sand shifting under feet, the exhilaration of sudden drenching by the monsoon rain.
The delight of a bird gently gliding to open hands: the ultimate peace and harmony of being one with nature.
A new texture, a new gradient, a new note, a new pitch: What’s not to love? Every time I look, there is a newness within the frame of the same scene.
